About LADIES BIBLE STUDY Prophets and Kings
This group study strictly follows scripture – you will need a Bible and a three ring binder to keep your weekly homework. The ladies range in age from late 20’s to mid 80’s. We begin each week with a short time of prayer and begin reading through the passages making connections to the foreshadowing of Christ and uncovering the relevance to our own daily need for Jesus.
1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Chronicles, along with readings from the prophets will be the focus for our study. We pick up our story following the death of our beloved David and watch his son Solomon ascend to the throne and build the temple that David had only dreamed of. We will watch in great disappointment as his son, Rehoboam, turns from the ways of the LORD and see the once unified kingdom ripped in two. There are stories of assassinations, cowardice, greed, heroism, honor, incest, lust, sibling rivalry and treason in the generations that follow until, at last, both the Northern and the Southern Kingdoms are carried away into captivity. The warnings of the prophets help us understand the need for the coming of the King of kings and their visions give us hope for his coming! Join us for a wild ride and a seldom studied section of scripture. You’ll be glad you did!
